49ers QB Trey Lance Breaks Ankle in Win Over Seattle
Trey Lance's "breakout" season has come to an abrupt end yesterday afternoon. Early in the first quarter of Sunday's matchup, Lance suffered a season-ending ankle injury. This led to the 49ers looking to a familiar face⸺ Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo came in to save the day by leading the team to a 27-7 win over the Seahawks.
This is the one team in the league where I am not worried about the QB situation. Garoppolo has taken the 49ers to at least the NFC Championship 2 out of the past 3 seasons. I also get the sense that the players would prefer a veteran like Garoppolo, with a history of success to lead this team.
Miami QB Tua Tagoviloa Throws Six Touchdowns in Comeback Win Against Ravens
Tua has finally shown a glimpse of greatness this weekend. After trailing three scores in the fourth quarter, Tua showed out with multiple touchdowns, including the game-winner to his speedy WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins are off to a hot 2-0 start and look to be a playoff contender already. Having a possible tie-breaker against the Ravens, another AFC powerhouse. will be very helpful come December. Proving his doubters wrong (myself included) in the making of a breakout year by joining his peers, Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow, as elite QBs.
