The Giants hit two big moves at the buzzer, they lock in their QB Daniel Jones with a massive 4-year $160 millon extension. By extending Jones they were able to swifty designate star rusher Saquon Barkley with the franchise tag.
Jones' deal comes with $82 million guaranteed and another $35 million in incentives. Still this makes him one of the highest paid QBs in the league with nothing to show for it. This was a terrible move by the Giants and it will bite them in the ass as Jones underperforms and continues to make bad decisions. Average-at-best QBs need to stop being valued as high as they are, best case scenario the Giants will hover around mediocre and wildcard seasons and wasting away the primes of the players they already have on rhe roster.
I believe that if DaBoll were able to have his own guy at QB, the Giants would go back to being the NFC threat they were many years ago.
