Top Landing Spots for J.J. Watt

 Pittsburgh Steelers

An obvious choice for Watt, joining his brothers T.J. and Derek Watt, the Steelers are already a contender with an established defense that Watt can only elevate. Provided Pittsburgh can fix their offensive woes this could be the team that gives J.J. Watt the first ring of his HOF-worthy career. With talented pass rusher Bud Dupree heading towards free agency, Watt could be a cheaper alternative with a similar skill level making it seem as though Dupree never left. The Steelers have already contacted Watt and will be a top contender to land the star Edge Rusher.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Ring chaser city is now located in Tampa. Everyone wants a chance to win with the greatest, last season we saw the likes of Gronk, AB, Shady McCoy, and Leonard Fournette all join Brady in Tampa Bay to try their hand at getting a ring.....and it worked. J.J. Watt obviously wants to win now and stated in his release request that he did not want to be apart of a rebuild, with many of Tampa's free agents poised to make a return the Buccaneers are sure to make a second run at the Lombardi under Bruce Arians and company. Shaq Barrett whom we saw the Bucs franchise tag last season is in a similar scenario to Dupree, an impending free agent looking to cash in on his recent success, if he looks to greener pastures Watt will be a great replacement for the boys in pewter.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay was known for their high-powered offense last season but their defense was known to fall apart at times. J.J. Watt would be a hometown hero playing for his childhood team. Watt grew up in Wisconsin and played at Wisconsin University. As Pat McAfee stated Watt was even wearing Wisconsin merchandise during his farewell video. As we can assume from Brady's free agency tour, childhood teams do matter. It was confirmed that Brady contacted the 49ers, the team he grew up rooting for, and he was turned down in favor of his understudy Jimmy G. Why wouldn't Watt do the same? Every football player dreams of playing for their favorite team growing up and in this market, Watt is the buyer and will choose where he plays in 2021.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns were one of four teams so far to have been confirmed to have contacted Watt for his services. Pairing Watt with Myles Garrett creates one of the deadliest pass rush duos in the league to date. Watt will have the opportunity to play his brothers twice a year and display his big brother superiority by winning the North over the Steelers. This Cleveland team was on the verge of an AFC Championship until the defense gave up a game-ending first down to the Mahomes-less Kansas City Chiefs, had Watt been there we might have seen the most 2020 thing of the entire year....a Cleveland Super Bowl.

Tennessee Titans

The J.J. Watt revenge season. What better way to stick it to Easterby and McNair than to play for a division rival and perennial playoff contender. The Titans have proved to themselves that they cannot solely rely on Derrick Henry to steamroll them through the playoffs. With defensive meltdowns against the Chiefs and Ravens in back-to-back years, it is clear that they need an upgrade in the front-7. Pairing Watt with his old teammate Jadeveon Clowney could make for some throwback pass-rushing, hopefully unlocking Clowney's potential that the Titans have been looking for. The Titans have also publically made a run at Watt already, but we'll see if Watt is truly loyal to the franchise he dedicated the last decade of his life to.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills are the last of the four teams to officially contact Watt. The Bills just want to keep getting better and continue to be one of the elite powerhouses in the NFL. J.J. Watt joins the likes of Jerry Hughes and Ed Oliver to build this sneaky good defensive line unit. The Bills played terribly against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship, similar to the Browns the Bills can't afford to not upgrade on defense if they want to take the next step and win their first Lombardi trophy.
