In a move we all expected EDGE J.J. Watt joins fellow ex-Texan DeAndre Hopkins in Arizona to try his hand at winning a Lombardi. This move surprises, everyone, as this was not one of the teams leaked by insiders or Watt's alleged Peloton account. This deal is a two-year $31 million with $23 guaranteed, this looks to be the main reason Watt joined, with that massive contract it is likely that other contenders were outbid by Arizona, look to see some cap casualties from them in coming weeks. Watt joins the likes of Chandler Jones, Isaiah Simmons, and Budda Baker on a team that finished just outside the NFC playoffs last season and hopes to rebound with their young bright stars. Most do not consider the Cardinals as Super Bowl contenders at this moment in time yet J.J. Watt shockingly chooses them after publicly stating that he wanted to join a win-now team. Even more shocking that he turned down opportunities to play with or against his brothers in the AFC North and a chance to seek vengeance against the Houston team that wronged his career with Tennessee. Perhaps the biggest question is what number will Watt wear? #99 is retired for former All-Pro Chicago Cardinals RB and WWII Vet Marshall Goldberg.
