Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt and RB Najee Harris Injured in Shaky Win Over Cincinnati
The Steelers pulled an upset in their Week 1 matchup versus the AFC Champion Bengals. Joe Burrow looked shaky against a strong Pittsburgh defense and gave the game away by racking up four interceptions. However, this defense won't be the same after late in the game EDGE T.J. Watt was seen heading to the sidelines mouthing "I tore my pec". Watt is to have an MRI today to determine the extent of the damage. Expect Watt to be out for most of the season.
The Steelers also saw RB Najee Harris leave the game with a recurring foot injury stemming from a Lisfranc injury during camp. This injury is considered not serious, but I foresee this affecting his play throughout the season.
Dallas QB Dak Prescott Scheduled for Thumb Surgery
QB Dak Prescott is projected to be sidelined for about four weeks with an IR designation after a hand injury in a losing effort on Sunday Night Football. Prescott was hit by Tampa Bay defender Shaq Barrett during a pass that caused him to leave prematurely. QB Cooper Rush took over and did his best to not entirely embarrass this team. If Prescott is placed on IR he will miss games against the Bengals, Giants, Commanders, and Rams. This is a bad slate for him to be absent with two division games and games against Super Bowl-caliber teams.
I am ready to put a fork in the Cowboys for 2022 and have this as a setback they will not recover from
RB Saquon Barkley Leads Giants in Upset Over Tennessee
In another surprising fashion, the New York Giants beat the Tennessee Titans after a missed FG by K Randy Bullock as time expired. This, of course, came off a dominating rushing attack led by RB Saquon Barkley. The oft-injured RB blew up the turf with 164yds and a TD on 18 carries. Barkley set the Giants to comeback from two scores with both 33 & 68yd rushes.
The Giants are going to be a bad football team, but it sure is exciting to see that they have one bright spot on the roster. Dominant rushers like Barkley are good for football and I hope for everyone's sake he keeps up the pace and performs the way he was supposed to do when he was drafted.
