Jets Trade for RB after Breece Hall ACL Tear

Shortly after losing starting RB and OROY-favorite Breece Hall, the Jets have filled is roster spot via a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags send over RB James Robinson in exchange for a conditional 6th-round pick.

Robinson came to Jacksonville as a UDFA in 2020 where he excelled and broke the record for rushing yards as a UDFA. In 2021 however, the Jaguars drafted RB Travis Etienne in the first round despite already having Robinson. Etienne later fell to a season-ending injury allowing Robinson to retake the reins as the starter. Now that Etienne is back in the mix the Jags no longer have a need for Robinson and with the Jets not trusting RB Michael Carter, this seems to be a perfect fit.

I like this trade for the need, but this is likely a season-long rental, with hopes that Hall returns as himself in 2023. I expect Robinson to be a free agent by the end of the season where he will surely look for a starting role.
