We see another one of our backups ascend to a starter and even see a dominant performance from another, and a surprise appearance from an old friend, this is Next Man Up! Week Eleven.

P.J. Walker ⭐️⭐️, CAR 2-4 (7)
Most Recent Performance: 62.5%, 108yds, 0 TD
After injuries last week we see both Wolford and Walker head back to the bench. Wolford was bound to return eventually, but we see that his compadre, Bryce Perkins got some of his would-be action this week. Walker however is losing valuable playing time on the QB Carousel that is the Carolina Panthers
The Rankings
10. Trace McSorley, ARI 0-1 (NR)
Most Recent Performance: 60%, 59yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
McSorely comes in late during a gruesome loss in Mexico on MNF. Garbage time play doesn't show us much of our valued backups, but the TikTok legend sure showed us how to "throw it on a dime" to the other team.
9. Bryce Perkins, LAR 0-1 (NR)
Most Recent Performance: 50%, 64yds, 0 TD
Perkins made an appearance last week after Wolford went down, but did not meet the playing requirements for my list. This week, however, Matt Stafford came down with his second concussion in as many weeks and we saw our man live in action. Perkins did nothing to stand out and joins the plethora of "eh" QBs that plague this week's list.
8. Nick Mullens, MIN 0-1 (NR)
Most Recent Performance: 71.4%, 54yds, 0 TD
Another garbage time performance after another bad loss. The Vikings got whooped by the Cowboys and decided to let Kirk Cousins off early tonight to avoid the embarrassment. No chains were handed out after this game, that's for sure.
7. Kenny Pickett, PIT 2-5 (1)
Most Recent Performance: 59.5%, 265yds, 1 TD
Most Recent Performance: 59.5%, 265yds, 1 TD
I'll give Ken his props, he did everything he could to win this game and the team just came up short. He did not throw an interception for the second straight week and they looked competitive. If Pickett can continue to play smart I may hop back on the train at some point, but for now the jury is still out,,
6. Andy Dalton ⭐️⭐️⭐️, NO 3-5 (0)
Most Recent Performance 84%, 260yds, 3 TD
I thought I was done giving away GSPs for beating the Rams, but Dalton did it and put up great numbers. in a backup showdown the Veteran shows up Bryce Perkins and marches the Saints to victory.
5. Colt McCoy ⭐️, ARI 1-1 (2)
Most Recent Performance: 70.36, 218yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Another week behind center for McCoy, who looked to take on Next Man Up! darling, Jimmy Garoppolo. McCoy could not replicate his success from last week and was even pulled late in the game to see if Trace McSorely had any flair. Spoiler Alert: he did not. McCoy is a career backup and a veteran in this league. His numbers show that he does what is asked of him, I would classify his benching as disrespectful and he should be treated better.
4. Jacoby Brissett ⭐️⭐️ , CLE 3-7 (0)
Most Recent Performance: 68.3%, 324yds, 3 TD
I'll hand it to Brissett, I'll give him a GSP loss for putting up a good showing against a dominant Buffalo team. For once Brissett did not put his team in a position to lose and they let him down. Had they seen this team before their tight loss against Minnesota, the Browns may have pulled this off, but we all know Buffalo was not going to lose twice in a row.
COUNTDOWN TO [REDACTED]: TWO WEEKS
3. Cooper Rush ⭐️⭐️⭐️, DAL 5-2 (0)
Most Recent Performance: 80%, 31yds, 0 TD
Most Recent Performance: 80%, 31yds, 0 TD
Oh, how I have missed Cooper Rush. As you may remember Rush was a hotshot backup that came out of nowhere for the Cowboys in Dak's absence. We now see it full circle as Dak played so well that he let Cooper Rush finish out the game as they celebrate victory together. Til next time, old friend.
2. Taylor Heinicke ⭐️⭐️⭐️, WSH 4-1 (1)
Most Recent Performance: 55.6%, 191yds, 0 TD
"Him"nicke was able to take a backseat this game and allow is defense to do the dirty work. The Commanders destroyed the Texans and in doing so, "Him"nicke officially claims the starting role over Carson Wentz. Perhaps Ron Rivera is one of my readers and finally saw the truth. Unlikely, but not impossible.
1. Jimmy Garoppolo ⭐️⭐️, SF 6-3 (1)
Most Recent Performance: 69.0%, 228yds, 4 TD
Immediately after a week where we laughed at Jimmy G for only winning when he doesn't score, he rebuttals with a massive 4-touchdown GSP. What even is this 49ers season? From losing their starter, to turning back to the disparaged Garoppolo to now leading the NFC West. The Garollercoaster is the best ride on the entire west coast with enough seats for everyone.
New Challenger Approaching!
For the first time this season, the Carolina Panthers will showcase former 1st-rounder Sam Darnold at QB. Darnold was their starter for the 2021 season and lost a QB competition in camp against newly acquired Baker Mayfield. Since then Mayfield has played poorly and interim QB P.J. walker is currently battling an injury. The Panthers look to put their last feelings of hope in Darnold to at least put together an interesting game. For Darnold he is likely fighting for his career over these next weeks to see if he will find his next backup job after he is likely released by the team at the end of the year.
The Texans and Jets are also on backup watch as both HCs have stated that they are not committed to Davis Mills and Zach Wilson, respectively. We may see appearances of Kyle Allen and the combo of Joe Flacco/Mike White in coming weeks if these starters don't get their act together.
