Between injuries and bye weeks, we lose a lot of members on this week's list, but that also means we gained a lot of third-stringers to shed some light on. A former starter joins our list as he switches teams and we may just embrace our status as a backup QB blog.
Next Man Up! Week Fourteen
Back to the Bench
All good things must come to an end and so our guests must make their way back to the locker room and wait to be called upon once more.

Andy Dalton ⭐️⭐️⭐️, NO 3-6 (5)

Dalton and "Him"nickie get the bye. As we know Jimmy G is out for the season and Kenny Pickett leaves the game almost immediately with a concussion leaving him off this week's list. Wolford and Allen get benched and Beathard is just happy to have made the list once.
The Rankings
12. Brett Rypien, DEN 0-2 (4)
Most Recent Performance: 50%, 16yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Russell Wilson was knocked out after a bad hit on Sunday versus the Chiefs. It was a tall ask for Rypien to complete the comeback after the Chiefs nearly blew their 27pt lead. On the bright side, Rypien stepped up and put some points on the board during his short appearance.
11. Anthony Brown, BAL 1-0 (NR)
Most Recent Performance: 60%, 16yds, 0 TD
Lamar? Injured. Huntley? Injured. Anthony Brown? Who? I predicted the Ravens beating the Steelers with Huntley at the forefront and as he left the game, third man Anthony Brown was able to keep it up and get the job done. Brown should enjoy this win as Huntley is expected to be ready for this week's matchup against the Browns.
10. Jeff Driskel, HOU 0-1 (NR)
Most Recent Performance: 66.7%, 38yds, 1 TD
I can honestly say, I had no idea that Jeff Driskel played meaningful snaps this week. Based on reading the ESPN play-by-play it seemed as though the Texans sprinkled in Driskel to confuse the defense with a player they were not familiar with and it almost worked. Driskel was able to capitalize on the unknown and keep the Texans in range of the upset and covered the spread for all our friends with acute gambling problems.
9. Colt McCoy ⭐️, ARI 1-2 (4)
Most Recent Performance: 67.5%, 246yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
McCoy comes in after a major injury to Kyler Murray on MNF. Colt was able to hold a decent performance, but could not overcome New England. He has proven to be a decent placeholder for a week at a time, but he will not do much to win if the team around him is not as successful. I am also a little salty that the Patriots winning keeps my Chargers out of the playoff picture, so shame on you Colt McCoy.
7. Tyler Huntley, BAL 2-0 (1)
Most Recent Performance: 75%, 88yds, 0 TD
I expected this to be a breakout game for Huntley, but instead, he led a slugfest against the Steelers and ultimately ended his night short with concussion protocol. I'm a little disappointed with his stat line, but he did set Anthony Brown up to continue to steer the Ravens in the right direction.
6. Tyrod Taylor, NYG 1-1 (4)
Most Recent Performance: 100%, 47yds, 1 TD
Most Recent Performance: 100%, 47yds, 1 TD
TyGod finally makes a real appearance this year after coming in for garbage time after a good ol' Philly ass-whooping. Taylor shows us why he keeps getting backup roles by putting on a clinical drive and completing every single pass he attempted and capping off the drive with a TD. I'd like to see him in a larger capacity, but it seems like the Giants are still holding on to Daniel Jones and his subpar QB play.
4. Sam Darnold ⭐️⭐️, CAR 2-0 (5)
Most Recent Performance: 58.3%, 120yds, 1 TD
Darnold's GSPs may be controversial, but the man is 2-0 since reclaiming the starting role. He keeps Carolina in the hunt and they are slowly sneaking up on Tom Brady and the Bucs for the NFC South title. I find it hilariously amazing that we have the opportunity for the Coachless, QBless, and CMCless Carolina Panthers to host the Dallas Cowboys in a playoff game if they continue to prove the entire league wrong. I might also add that division winners with losing records are undefeated in the Wild Card round.
3. Baker Mayfield ⭐️, LAR 1-0 (NR)
Most Recent Performance: 62.9%, 230yds, 1 TD
A rare occurrence for us to have a former starter join the ranks as a backup. Some may have been confused that I don't rank former starters, but I categorize them as those who started Week 1 for their team (Baker Mayfield- CAR) or those who are supposed to have started Week 1 but did not for other reasons like suspension or injury ( [REDACTED]- CLE, Zach Wilson- NYJ). In Week 14 Mayfield joins the Rams to replace their starter Matt Stafford who is shut down for the season. Mayfield earns a GSP in the most important game of his career where he proves that he still has gas in the tank. He shows a vintage Baker drive where he dissects the Raiders' defense and goes 98yds down the field to win the game. The Rams will b e on the brink of elimination each week and they have to win out to have a shot at the playoffs. Will they survive? Probably not, but it will be fun to watch.
2. Mike White ⭐️, NYJ 1-2 (1)
Most Recent Performance: 61.4%, 268yds, 0 TD
White fought as hard as he could against the strong Buffalo defense. He left the game twice due to rib injuries and after returning to finish the game, he was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital. If I had an emoji for guts White would be the one to receive it this week.
1. Brock Purdy ⭐️⭐️, SF 2-1 (3)
Most Recent Performance: 76.2%, 185yds, 3 TOT TD
Mr. Relevant leads another impressive victory on Tom Brady's homecoming night. Purdy lit up the Buccaneers and had them beat 28-0 at half and held a 35-point lead later in the third. It is rare for a team to carry three solid starting QBs and they remain in the driver's seat for the NFC West. We will know by the time this post goes live whether or not Purdy leads the Niners to a championship in their TNF matchup against Seattle.
