Chiefs Cut DE Frank Clark and Let OT Orlando Brown Jr. Walk
The Chiefs traded for Frank Clark in 2019 and he has been a positive addition to their two Super Bowl wins. At only 29, Clark should be poised for another great contract to end out his career somewhere else.
Another great trade the Chiefs made was for Orlando Brown Jr. KC and Brown could not come to terms on a long-term contract and he is finally granted free agency. He will be handed a hefty contract being the best OL on the market currently and will have his pick of teams due to the lack of players at his position.
Arizona Cuts C Rodney Hudson amd WR Chosen Anderson
Cap casualties have made their way to Phoenix where the Cardinals release two veterans. The aging Rodnwy Hudson could find work with a short-term contract, but for "the Receiver Formerly Known as Robb(ie/y)", he has probably played his last season as an NFL player. Anderson's attitude in the locker room has hurt his career already is heading down an Antonio Brown-esque path. Welcome to the XFL, Chosen.
Geno Smith Cashes in with 3-Year $105 million Contract
Another FA QB off the market as the Seahawks do right by the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year. Geno Smith, as we all know, is having the greatest redemption arc since Kurt Warner. The former career backup is finally back in a major role since his hayday with the Jets in the early 10's.
I love this move for Seattle who will continue to build around a decent QB and wait for the next superstar to come to them. Too often teams sacrifice for the next league darling without giving them any help, causing them to hop from QB to QB hoping to find a cure all for bad team building. While teams like Seattle and Detroit are changing the pace by rolling with mediocrity until they are truly prepared to break through for a deep playoff run. The key to a championship is patience and the Seahawks future will thank this front office for this move in years to come.
