After six seasons, the Cowboys are releasing RB Ezekiel Elliott. After franchise tagging RB Tony Pollard it was clear that Dallas was going into a new era with their rushing game. Elliot was once a young star for the team and after battling injuries his role had been severely diminished.
With surplus RBs on the market, Elliot may have a hard time finding the role he wants and will likely sign somewhere small in a rotational setting. Teams like the Bills, Chargers, and Bears should look at Elliott as a complement to a younger back similar to his role in Dallas with Pollard.
