With so many signings from here on out, we will release roundups with statements about the biggest signings as well as mentions of other mid-profile players.
Niners Bolster Defense Even More By Signing DT Javon Hargrave
The Eagles have been hurt badly on day one by losing critical free agents, one of which being Javon Hargrave to the 49ers. Hargrave was ranked #11 by PFF and played an important role in the Eagles' Super Bowl run. He joins Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead on the league's best defense and looks to help them compete this year. Hargrave signs a 4-year $84 million contract with San Francisco.
QB Jimmy Garoppolo is Heading to Las Vegas
The Garoppolo sweepstakes ended swiftly as the quarterback immediately opted to go with his former OC Josh McDaniels and the Las Vegas Raiders. Filling the hole left by Derek Carr's departure, Garoppolo signs a $72.3 million contract with the Raiders for three years. This contract is set up to be friendly enough that the team can still draft a young guy to be the future heir to the black hole.
Bears Land Top FA LB Tremaine Edmunds
Edmunds gets the bag after signing a massive $72 million 4-year contract with Chicago. Before free agency, the Bears had the most cap space in the league and they seem to plan on spending it. Edmunds will fill a need on defense that was dismantled a season ago. Edmunds ends up being a huge loss for the Buffalo Bills and they will need to look hard to replace him.
