QB Taylor Heinicke Signs with Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are allegedly moving forward with Desmond Ridder, but a high-end signing like Heinicke indicates they are not afraid to start him at some point. Next Man Up! readers know that Heinicke is exponentially better than Ridder and there is no need to dance around that fact. Heinicke signs for 2 years and $14 million which gives the team ample opportunity to move on from both QBs after this season.
Jets Sign WR Allen Lazard to Lure Aaron Rodgers
In their pursuit to trade for Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers, the Jets allegedly were given a list of FA's to acquire. This list was mostly every Packers FA and WR Odell Beckham Jr. The Jets start the Rodgers courting by signing WR Allen Lazard. Lazard as become a fan favorite in Green Bay and will be a threat in NY. He signs a 4-year $44 million deal and with that kind of money he will push out a few guys in the crowded WR room. One of Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, and Denzwl Mims will likely be sent to Green Bay in a hypothetical Rodgers trade while the others could be cut to make room for the Rodgers crew.
Vegas Loads Up On WR By Signing Jakobi Meyers
The Raiders reload the ofdense by adding Jakobi Meyers to an already solid WR room. Joining Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow, gives new QB Jimmy Garoppolo tons of options to throw to. The only downside is that shortly after the signing, Vegas traded their Pro Bowl TE Darren Waller. However, the Raiders will have no excuses not to be a top 10 offense in 2023. Meyers signs a 3-year $33 million contract to be pryed away from New England leaving them with no real playmakers.
