Running Back Market Heats Up, Lions, Saints, and Panthers Find New Rushers
More and more RBs find their way off the market as three of the best available all find homes: David Montgomery- Lions (3yr/$18m), Jamaal Williams- Saints (2yr/$6m), Miles Sanders- Panthers (4yr/$25m).
The Lions opt not to bring back fan favorite Jamaal Williams who also led the league in touchdowns in 2022. Instead they went after their division rivals back, David Montgomery. Williams heads to New Orleans to provide insurance in case Kamara's legal troubles catch up to him.
Meanwhile, in Carolina the rebuild seems to be going fast. The Panthers ink Miles Sanders to a long term deal. Sanders was top five in yards in 2022 and should be a fine replacement for CMC. He will surely take the pressure off of their new rookie QB and start off the new era in a positive way.
Patriots Ink WR Juju Smith-Schuster to Three-Year Deal
After losing Jakobi Meyers to free agency the Patriots hop on a top WR on the market, Juju Smith-Schuster. Juju had a rehab year with the Chiefs that turned into a Championship and proved he still had the talent he did in Pittsburgh. In New England, Juju has the opportunity to be the true top receiving threat on the team and help Mac Jones get over the hump. Patriots sign him to a three-year deal for $33 million.
Bengals Sign OT Orlando Brown to Massive Deal
The Bengals fill a massive need on their OL by signing the best OL on the market Orlando Brown Jr. The Bengals poor OL play is almost solely the reason they lost both a Super Bowl and AFC championship in two years. This could be the missing piece keeping Joe Burrow from hoisting the Lombardi. Cincinnati signs Brown Jr. to a four-year contract worth $64.1 million to be an anchor for their offense.
