Saints to Sign QB Derek Carr, Giants Prioritizes QB Jones, Rams Continue to Excorcise Roster

Derek Carr to Saints is a "Done Deal"

The Derek Carr sweepstakes is nearly over. Soures report that Carr strongly prefers to reunite with his former HC Dennis Allen in the Big Easy. This puts New Orleans in a position to compete in the NFC South and gives Carr a more stable environment to thrive in. As of now this is to be a 4-year deal with figures to be released soon.

I like the fit for both sides and I expect Carr to return to the Pro Bowl QB he can be.

Giants to Franchise Tag Daniel Jones

The Giants have been reported to rather use the franchise tag on Daniel Jones over Saquon Barkley if a deal is not reached by tomorrow.

This would allow Barkley to become the number one free agent on the market, which would make it highly unlikely for him to return to the Giants. A fit I like best for Barkley is for the Chicago Bears to send him a blank check and a one-way ticket to Soldier Field. Just imagining the rushing attack between Fields and Barkley could be the best the league has ever seen.

Rams Open Trade Market for LB Leonard Floyd and WR Allen Robinson

The Rams continue to clear cap space by allowing Allen Robinson to find a trade partner and trading/releasing Leonard Floyd.

Robinson was a huge free agency bust this past offseason where everyone had him in the perfect pairing with Matt Stafford. Robinson ended the year with 339yds and 3 TDs. I imagine he won't go for much, but could be a solid number two or three option at this point in his career.

Leonard Floyd should be a hotter name on the open market once he is released. Being a major part of the Rams defense, he could easily provide support for any contending roster looking to bolster it's front seven.
